This week we had the opportunity of interviewing Rosy Sanchez! Rosy is a Chicago native, social media content writer, and blogger who recently started her own brand, Living Life Rosy. Rosy attended Columbia College in Chicago and majored in Marketing Communications and Public Relations. We were thrilled to talk with Rosy in regards to how she started her own brand, and the advice she may have for teens on branding themselves.

Here’s what Rosy had to say:

What is your strategy for creating your content? What are some apps that you use?

Rosy’s strategy for creating content for Living Life Rosy is to inspire others to look at the “Rosy Side of Life.” She’s made the color pink the main theme to her brand. To help her build her brand, Rosy also looks at what apps other content creators are using. The top four apps that she uses are:

  1. Lightroom– -Helps you edit photos by enhancing the color, lighting, and more.
  2. PicsArt — Provides access to impressive photo effects, drawing tools, image editor, collage maker, sticker maker, camera, photo filters, video editor, free image library, face editor with face swap, beautify tools, and more.
  3. Photo Retouch — Can help you remove or duplicate objects in a photo.
  4. Inshot—A great platform to edit videos, trim them, edit the music, and more.

So if you’re looking to heighten your branded social media game definitely check these out!

What are some of your favorite Instagram features?

Without hesitation hashtags. Hashtags are vital in growing your reach and have helped Rosy quadruple her reach. You want to use approximately 30 hashtags with a mixture of high and low posts. In addition, you want to make sure that your hashtags are relevant to your post. Make sure to interact with other people using the same hashtags to help grow your engagement.

What are some tips that you have for teens on how they can build their brand?

The first thing you should do is find your niche. Find out what you’re into, what you want to talk about, and make sure you can develop content for that niche. Once you do that, engage with your audience. It’s not about your follower count as much now, it’s all about the engagement. Reply to people commenting on your post, comment on other people’s posts as well. This will help in garnering interest on your page from others. In addition, be genuine and consistent.

How do you develop a community on social media and what are some of the benefits of having a community on social media?

The number one way to grow is engaging with other influencers who post content that is relevant to yours. You can do this by clicking on the hashtags you use and seeing who else is using them. Check out groups that are available to join. Putting yourself out there will help get your name and brand more visible to others. People will want to know more, and that could lead to them liking and sharing your content. Also engage with their content, comment on their post, read their blogs and this will help build that relationship with other influencers. It’s not about competition, it’s about growing together.

What is one last tip you’d give to teens looking to start their brand?

Be authentic! Being authentic is key to building your brand. Authenticity will show in your work, and your followers will be able to notice. Being authentic will show others how passionate you are about your content and make others connect to it as well.

Thank you, Rosy for providing our followers with these great insights on how you built your brand and steps they can take to do the same.
