School Culture
The culture of the university is one of the most important aspects of selecting a college. More often than not, your college tour guide will speak extensively about the culture of the school. Different schools have different vibes. Urban schools can be a little less communal, while traditional state universities may have more of a campus community scene. You know yourself better than anyone else, so try to envision in your mind if it is the right fit for you. You’ll be spending the next 4 years of your life here, and it’s important that you feel comfortable at school, and will be able to thrive.
School Resources
Going to college is all about preparing for adult life, and school resources are a major part of that. When on your college visits, ask questions about job resources, academic resources, or anything that may personally concern you. These are going to be your go to spots for any questions or concerns you have during your time at the university. Moreover, they provide opportunities for internships, research positions, and leadership opportunities.
The Extracurriculars
Most higher educational institutions have a thriving network of extracurriculars. There’s almost always something for everyone. Do not underestimate the power of extracurriculars whether it be clubs, organizations, etc. Getting involved outside the classroom is the single best way to meet like-minded people who share the same interests as you. Here, you’ll also be introduced to a plethora of school events, and outings as well.
