Being safe when surfing the web
Social media has become such a big part of way teens communicate on a daily basis. Social media can give our voice tremendous power with the click of a single button. As much fun as we have online, it is good to be safe when surfing the web.
Don’t expose personal information
Keep track about what information you expose online. When registering for such sites they will ask you for your phone number and other personal information. Make sure not to expose anything you wouldn’t like people to get a hold of, once is online it could be seen by many.
Check password
Don’t share your password with anyone. Make sure to have a password easy enough for you to remember, but not easy enough for others to guess. It is also good to update your password once in a while to prevent any possible hackings or spams.
Keep your Internet memory clean
The internet has a very large memory, it can track just about anything. Even if you think something is deleted, it might not be. Evaluate what you are posting, and decide if it gives you a good image.
Take precautions
Privacy is key, keep your sites private. Take any precautions if you see or get contacted by anyone suspicious. Don’t be afraid to use the block button and report anything that makes you feel uncomfortable.
Be responsible
Think before you post. If what you are posting will affect someone in a negative way, then it’s better not to write it.
